Accessibility statement
Last reviewed 12 July 2026. We design accessible buildings; the website should hold to the same standard.
Our commitment
Lion & Jo Commercial Interiors is committed to making lion-jo.aljarash.com usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they browse with.
Standard we aim for
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We believe this site substantially conforms. Specific measures taken include:
- Semantic HTML landmarks and a logical single-H1 heading order on every page
- A visible “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element
- Text and background colour combinations tested against 4.5:1 minimum contrast
- Descriptive alternative text on every meaningful image; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Keyboard operability throughout, including the navigation menu, accordions and the cookie banner, with a clearly visible focus outline
- Form fields with persistent visible labels rather than placeholder-only labelling
- Respect for the operating system’s “reduce motion” preference, which disables all animation and smooth scrolling
- Layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels and remains usable at 200% text zoom
Known limitations
Some project photographs contain fine detail that alternative text can only summarise. If a specific image matters to you, contact us and we will describe it in full or send the underlying drawing.
Accessibility in the spaces we build
Every project we design is reviewed against the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design and the Illinois Accessibility Code before drawings are issued for permit. Clear widths, turning circles, reach ranges, door pressures, tactile and visual signage, accessible restrooms and evacuation routes are checked as a documented item, not an afterthought. Where a client wishes to exceed the minimum — for example on neurodiverse-friendly lighting, acoustic zoning or sensory rooms — we are glad to develop that.
Reporting a barrier
If you encounter a page or feature you cannot use, please tell us. Email Elizabeth@lion-jo.aljarash.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line, or call +1 (408) 801-3129. Describe the page and what happened; we aim to acknowledge within two business days and to fix confirmed issues within thirty days. We can also supply any information on this site in an alternative format on request, at no charge.
